Options for dealing with a retaining wall that’s falling apart?

Photo album: https://ift.tt/39ma8Oz we live in a semi-sloped property, and have a retaining wall that’s about 4′ in some spots, and after that, sloped down to a pond/lake.We just replaced our roof, and the quote for a new stone wall is $26,000. So I looked at it and was just trying to think of what else we can do. Could someone just patch it up and give us another 5 years? Should we get a wooden wall for cheaper and just accept that it’s going to need to be replaced again in 10 years? Are there retaining wall alternatives? A retaining…hill? We really like having a semi-level back yard to play with the dogs and hang out in, so I’d rather not just ditch the yard and let it slope and get overgrown or whatever. But I don’t know. Is this wall patchable? What do you guys think should be done? I didn’t do a great job with the picture, but to the right, it’s probably worst, but also shortest. You can see those “steps” we made are really just where there’s a huge gap in the wall. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NDRZDn
