Whole house humidifier constantly running

on

I have a Trane heat pump system that is about 6 years old. This winter I noticed that the humidifier (bypass humidifier that mounts to the side of the unit) wasn’t working. There was no water running to the evaporator pad. After doing some research I determined that the humidistat was bad and replaced it. Once I did that water began flowing to the pad again and it appeared to be working. However, when the furnace shuts off the water continues to flow. If I turn the humidistat to the off position the solenoid valve closes so it appears it is working correctly. Any ideas why the new humidistat would not be closing the valve when the furnace shuts off via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NClllw
