User review of the AIRCARE humidifier is a very simple design that is surprisingly easy to maintain and fill. To fill the humidifier you remove the entire top of the unit and set it off to the side.
The bottom of it has four wheels that you can roll around even with a full load of water. I typically roll the bottom half of the humidifier over to the sink and fill it with the sink spray hose. You don’t need to use purified water since there are no intricate parts that can clog.
It’s basically a bucket of water with a fan and a wicking filter.
I rinse the filter off with hot water each time I fill it. Salt collets of the filter wick pad from my water softener so I always try to rinse it off. It’s been two months with this filter and I’m probably going to replace it soon since it’s becoming discolored.
The humidity sensor is on the cord away from the fan which gives it a fairly accurate reading of the humidity in the room. The fan has 3 settings, low, medium, and high. I leave my fan on low unless I need to increase the humidity quickly. The fan on medium creates some vibration which has more noise and vibration than the high setting.
You can set the humidity level you want in your home on the panel. When you unplug it and replug it in it reset the humidity level to the default 60% every time. It has a filter monitor that after so many hours it will remind you to check the filter. To reset the filter all you have to do is unplug the cord for 10 minutes.
Overall it’s really is a great humidifier. It maintains the 50% I set it for a 2,000 sq ft 2 story house. It works better than a whole house humidifier I installed into the duct work at my old residence. I only need to refill the bucket every 3 days which is considerably less than a small humidifier I was trying to make do with. I would definitely not hesitate to buy this model. It does the job well and simply which means less thing to go wrong down the road. The filters are also readily available and fairly inexpensive.
