[HELP] Best type of lining material to counteract slip in a clamp

I have a modified benchclamp for some tooling, but it tends to slip under relatively little torque. I used the kind of rubber matting you put under your washing machine, but it’s too thick and too soft, resulting in flex, and it also doesnt grip my bench very well, since it’s lacquered. What kind of rubber/silicone/etc. can I use as a lining material that will result in a sturdier hold? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3agNxU4
