18g finishing nails for plywood ceiling

I have an 18 gauge finishing nailer and I was planning to use that, as well as some loctite fastgrab glue to attach 1/2 inch plywood to the ceiling of a cabin. The plywood is getting attached directly to the bottom of the trusses, though I have attached 2×4 cross pieces between the trusses as a surface area for the plywood to get glued/nailed to. I’ve been doing a little additional reading to make sure I’m doing it right, and a lot of people online are suggesting not to use 18 gauge finishing nails, but rather use a narrow crown staple for this purpose. Do I really need to buy an entirely different tool and set of fasteners to do this, or will glue + 18 gauge brads be sufficient for holding these panels on the ceiling? I also don’t love the idea of having visible staples on the ceiling either. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3pEUKBV
