Wooden Fence Maintenance

Hi there,

I've asked around in hardware stores and looked online, but I can't find any definite answers on what to use to ensure my wooden fence (below) doesn't end up looking like this again after only a few months…

I've been using this brand (https://www.ronseal.com/for-garden/sheds-fences/fence-paint/one-coat-fence-life/) for years without issue, usually topping it up every 2 1/2 years, but the coat I applied last Spring was in such bad shape by the end of Summer, that I had to apply a second (and third coat), and after only 6 months, the fence is looking worse than it ever has… We live on the coast, and whilst the salt in the air might not help, I'm at a loss as to how it's just not taking to the fence paint as it once did… Any help/tips/advice/products/brands you'd recommend would be most appreciated… Thanks!
