Attic Insulation Question

I am about to get access to a closed off attic space due to some other work going on. I am in the green zone 5 and my house was built in the 80s. I have 2×6 floor joist and it looks like, from my endoscopic camera, the current insulation goes up to the top of the joist. That would give about 5.5" of insulation and so I am estimating that I currently have about R-18. The insulation that is the cheapest and easiest to get right now is the Corning R-30 15" unfaced roll. Doing one pass will get me to around R-48 and two will get me to R-78. I am wondering if it is worth it to go to R-78 or would it be fine to stick with R-48. The big issue is that after the work is completed I will no longer have access to the attic.
