How would you build this seating extension idea for a car? (brain cell loss may occur click at own risk)
This is going to sound nuts but hear me out. I have two dogs that chill in the third row of my vehicle but they could use some extra room to lay down, so I'd like to extend the length of the 3rd row seat cushion to the back of the 2nd row seats.
I thought first about throwing down a piece of plywood cut to size on top of the seat, with some legs to support it on the open side but it seems rather annoying to remove when I vacuum/clean.
Next idea was to staple some carpet to a few of those heavy duty storage boxes (the yellow and black ones from homedepot) that fit behind the 2nd row seats. Then I can throw their dog beds on top and it should mostly work out good. Plus I then have some storage I can use for leashes, toys, treats, and a roadside emergency kit. Cool.
Any other ideas? This sounds ridiculous I know but we have cargo behind the 3rd row and I don't want them to ride with the cargo in case it crushes them.
