One of my exterior walls has the top layer of the drywall cracked and separated from the compound in a few spots. It seems too large to tape and mud, and I don't think that will provide a permanent solution and the videos I've watched are for much smaller cracks. And I'm unsure how to properly demo this to use a large piece of drywall if I don't have studs to attach it to; hoping there is a solution out there I wasn't able to find.

Cheers.
