Looking for an affordable timed locking device for small wooden box that can keep a motivated cat out.

Context: I like to build (timed) food toys for my cat. These builds keep my cat entertained during the day and prevent him from overeating, for my cat will eat until he vomits. I usually use modified fish feeders for the timing part. Those don't work for my current build. I'm looking for something that it timed and would be able to lock a small wooden box that will be filled with all sorts of interesting cat puzzles. Now I could build a motorized timed lock using a teensy and an usb power bank etc but this would have to be made sturdy enough to be cat proof and might actually be many times more expensive than a pre made locking device. Now I have found quite a few timed padlocks locks and a few locking plastic containers on google etc, but I'm not at all sure that these would work for my cat would still have to open the lock and I have my doubts on how sturdy they are. Do you have any advice? A simple timed latch would be ideal but I can't seem to find those.

Requirements:
– It has to be reasonably priced.
– Ideally not too bulky.
– It has to be timed and actually unlock, the cat should not have to open the locking device first.
– It should not be completely silent, any small noise / click / motorised hum etc will do but my cat has to be able to hear that it unlocks.
– It doesn't not need to stand up to any adult human thief but it should be sturdy enough to be able to keep a determined small child out. My cat is the sort of cat who will try to brute force his way into puzzles to get to his food and is determined enough to open a cupboard that isn't protected by child locks.
