Husky air compressor safety valve popping
I powered on my Husky Air Scout 41004 air compressor for the first time in a few years. Once the pressure builds, the safety valve pops. Then once the pressure builds again, the safety valve pops again, and so on. The instruction manual says there is a pressure switch that is supposed to turn off the motor once the pressure reaches the "cut-out pressure" of 135 psi, before the safety valve can pop, and then turn on the motor once the pressure drops to the "cut-in pressure" of 100 psi.
Does this mean the pressure switch is bad? Obviously it isn't great that the motor runs constantly, but is it dangerous to only rely on the safety valve?
