Screws enough for 2×4 framed shelf on wall?
I’m attempting to build a shelf/table of sorts to put my monitors and other computer equipment on (at least 100lbs.). I built a 9”x48” support frame out of 2x4s which I planned to attach to two studs in the wall using #8 2.5” wood screws drilled through the flat side of the 2x4s.
The first attempt failed with the frame pulling from the wall. My question is would 3” screws do the job or would something like a lag bolt be better (or another suggestion)? Or is the idea as a whole doomed from a sturdiness perspective?
