Copper to pex to copper–did I screw up my electrical grounding?

Replaced a section of copper pipe in my house this weekend with some pex and sharkbite fittings (changed out the original 1965 outside spigot with a fancy sharkbite frost free silcock).

I was once told that my house grounds via the copper water pipes. As the pipe comes in copper, now has a length of pex, then goes back to copper… did I just unground my house?

Can I run a span of 12 gauge wire from the copper piping, alongside the pex, back to the copper?

If I put in a ground spike, then run a wire inside and clamp it on to the existing copper piping, do I run the risk of electrocuting myself?
