Looking to install a barn door but track holes don’t match studs

I’m working on figuring out how to install the track for a barn door (door is reasonably lightweight as it’s PVC), but I quickly realized that the mounting holes for the track won’t match up to the stud locations, they’re 17.75” on center…, and the track will be high enough that I’m pretty sure that the header above the opening doesn’t go up far enough for me to bolt into that. I’ve looked at using Molly’s, but the largest I can find domestically are M6 ones, and the bolts that come with it (the door comes with lag bolts, presumably the standard 1/4” size, and M8 bolts with expanding concrete anchors), so I was wondering if anyone either knew of another mounting option, or where I could get M8 Molly’s here in the US…

Yes, I would pilot drill all holes before committing to molly sized holes in case some of them actually lined up with existing studs.

Also, per the wife, a mounting/backer board to put the track on is NOT an option.

Thanks in advance!
