Need some tips/directions for creating a suspended ceiling drop to hide some plumbing pipes

I am installing a suspended ceiling and would like to make a ceiling drop similar to something like this to hide some pipes that are lower than the rest of the ceiling: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f6/0d/14/f60d144fbb143f427e82f493e77cfde7.jpg

The area isn't as large, but going for a similar look. Shop I got my angle iron recommended just using the same stuff and riveting it together which will probably work. Other resources say to cut main runner and hang it over, but am lacking much detail. Everything online points to strictlyceilings.com and I am not sure of the quality of their videos before spending the money.

Anyone do something like this before or have resources that work well?
